Recently we had our dear family and close friends over for EV’s second birthday. I’m a true believer that good people, yummy food and drinks always make for a good time!
I really enjoy the planning, crafting and decorating aspect of parties and entertaining. Even though I try to get as much done ahead of time, you will always find me up the night before (way later than I should be) doing last minute projects and prep. I can’t seem to help it, ideas will come to me last minute and I always want everything to look just as I picture it in my mind.
I knew many months ago that I wanted to do a Tea for Two party theme for EV, as she loves to imagination play with her tea pot and cups. Additionally, she loves tea just like her mama! I went to a few different antique shops in search of fun mismatched tea cups and saucers. I used these for the kid’s favors and to put the homemade cupcakes in, they were so adorable!
At the kids table they each got to decorate their own foam paper place mats. I found the most adorable chunky glitter (which I am still finding all over my house) and stickers at the Target dollar spot. They had a blast doing this and it was something cute for them to bring home!
For snacks, my husband made delicious pulled pork in the crock pot. I had grand plans of baking a few things along with the cupcakes, but you know how that goes. Instead I raided Wegmans bakery for any high tea pastry I could find, croissants, lemon pound cake, and assorted fruit mini turnovers. We also put out a veggie try along with cheese and crackers.
For her first birthday, I displayed her monthly pictures from balloons. This time around I made a year in review galley wall of EV and her friends which was so fun to put together and reflect on. I am definitely going to make that an annual party tradition for my kids!
She is one special little girl, and my heart was so full watching all the excitement and happiness pour out of her throughout the day!
Thanks for coming by!
